Heinz Schattner

He lived in Paris and in London where he became the assistant of various fashion photographers. After these experiences he began to work for Vogue Bambini, Vogue Uomo and other Italian and German fashion magazines. He signed many important advertising campaigns and TV spots, both as a photographer and an art director, in Italy and abroad. He mostly interpreted the world of fashion, exploring shapes and subjects in multiple atmospheres and evocative contest. He created new conceptions of projects based on light contrast. A constant innovation in the image vision underlies his job. He aims to give his contribution to important marketing projects with great professionalism.

He worked for Italian, English and German customers in New York, Boston, Los Angeles, San Diego, Santa Barbara, Phoenix, Miami, Salt Lake City, in the Bermudas, the Bahamas and the Caribbean Islands, with the support and collaboration of production companies from Miami, L.A., N.Y., Canada, Mexico, Africa and Asia.

He is the photographer of the book “Thirtynine Souls” – Angela Pintaldi jewellery for Donna Karan, London – and the book “Ateh” – presented at Tashimaya (5th Avenue, N.Y.) and published by F. Motta in 2004.

One of his latest published project in black and white is “Wasteland Fashion and Culture”, realized for Gianfranco Ferrè, Richmond, Biggenbergs, Issey Miake and other famous fashion designers with the tribes of Peul, Bambara, Dogon and Tuoareg in Mali, Africa.

He is officially in charge of photography of the archeological sites in the southeastern region of Sicily. Here, in Taormina, he presented his exhibtion called “Il passato è presente” (Sicily, May 2004), that was published and presented by Book’s Hall in Turin in 2004. Thanks to his role in the Regional Council for Tourism, he travels often in Sicily, where he walked the path of the great German writer Goethe (1787) with his images. From this experience he realized in November 2008 “Un viaggio nell’immagine”, 30 black and white 70/100 pictures taken in Palermo, Catania, Siracusa, Berlin, and Santa Fè (New Mexico).
